NotesApp Credit: your wallet
NotesApp Credit is a prepaid balance. Top up once in your Wallet and pay across #NotesApp without entering your card each time.
Top up: from ₦1,000 to ₦500,000 at a time, through Paystack (card, bank transfer or USSD). Open the menu under your name → Wallet → Top up.
Top up with CardTap: on an Android phone with NFC, choose Tap to pay with CardTap under Top up. You get a code: open the free CardTap app from Paylony, paste the code (or scan its QR), tap your bank card on the phone and enter your PIN. Your wallet updates by itself a moment later. CardTap's own fee is added at cost, 1% of the top-up and never more than ₦1,000, and you see it before you pay (during the launch offer, #NotesApp pays it for you). It's usually cheaper than paying by card. iPhones from the iPhone 13 follow when Paylony adds them. Refunds of a CardTap top-up go through Paylony.
Bonus Credits come with larger top-ups:
- ₦5,000 or more: +₦250
- ₦10,000 or more: +₦700
- ₦20,000 or more: +₦2,000
- ₦50,000 or more: +₦6,000
- They last 90 days, are spent before your own credit (soonest-ending first), and can be used only for boosts, the verification badge and advert banners (and paid calls, when those arrive). Bonus amounts can change and are always shown before you pay.
Paying from your wallet: when you pay for a boost, the maroon ✔ badge, an ad campaign, a gift, a shop item, a download or a paid session, and you have something in your wallet, you're asked Wallet or Card, bank transfer or USSD. The same prices and rules apply as paying by card:
- Shop items are held until you confirm delivery, and sessions until they have happened; then the seller is paid.
- A badge paid from the wallet lasts one month and doesn't renew by itself; add it again when it ends.
- Gifts, shop items, downloads and sessions use your credit only, not Bonus Credits.
Refunds of a wallet payment (a cancelled boost, a cancelled session, an order that never arrived) go back to your wallet. Any Bonus Credits you used come back as Bonus Credits for another 90 days.
What you can't do: NotesApp Credit can't be withdrawn, cashed out, sent or sold to another member. Sellers and publishers are always paid to their bank accounts, never into a wallet. Plans (Pro, Business), journal subscriptions, the gold badge and merch are paid by card for now.
Your statement: the Wallet page lists every top-up, payment, refund and expired bonus, with filters (Top-ups, Spent, Bonus, Held, Refunds). Closing your account? Spend your credit first, or contact us to refund unspent top-ups to your card (Bonus Credits aren't refunded).
