Spaces: topics inside your community
Spaces are the topics inside a community where members can post too: Prayer requests, Youth fellowship, Announcements, Alumni 2015, Volunteers. See them with pictures on the Spaces page.
How many: up to 20 Spaces in a community. A Space has no headcount of its own: every member of the community can open every Space they're allowed to read, so a Space holds as many people as the community (200 members free, no limit on Business). There's no joining or leaving a single Space.
Public or members only (each Space): a public Space can be read by anyone, even without joining, and its posts can show on your profile and in Explore. A members-only Space is seen by members only, and its posts never appear in Explore, search, link previews, the Weekly Digest, Nana's answers or the MCP server. Under the Space's name it says which it is, so members know who can read what they write.
Who posts (each Space): members (everyone can write, like and comment) or admins only (admins post, members like and comment), for a second announcement stream such as Choir notices.
Setting them up: Admin tab → Spaces: add a Space with its name, public or members only, and who posts. Rename or remove them any time. Pinning, removing and slow mode work as in General.
Need a small private group instead? That's a Circle.
